PARKLAND HORSEMAN'S ASSOCIATION, INC.
The Parkland Horseman's Association, Inc., is a non-profit organization. Established by a handful of equine enthusiasts in the late 1970's to promote riding, showing, good horsemanship and fun. The club now has a membership of over 300. In addition to shows, we provide education through guest lecturers and clinics, participate in trail rides and parades and work towards preserving green space for the benefit of horsemen and non-horsemen alike.
Our open shows attract riders from throughout Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties and we're working hard to provide a pleasant, well run circuit. But we can always use an extra hand.
We rely on volunteer help for ring stewards, work the in/out gates and do the other endless (but rewarding!) odd jobs that go into putting on a good horse show. So, how about it? Even if you're a "tenderfoot" with no prior experience, we encourage you to get involved and participate. Just ask us... we'll be more than happy to "show you the ropes!"
Everyone who has a love of horses, whether you own one or
not, is welcome to join our friendly and low key organization. Simply stop by
the registration desk at any of our shows and fill out an application. If you
have any questions, call Maria Kokinakos at (954) 346-1412. Membership fees,
good for one year, are $20.00 per individual, Jr., friends of PHA and $30.00
per family. Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:30
p.m., held at New City Hall. We'd love to see you there next time. Oh, and one
last thing... our sponsors, the generous individuals who provide us with the
financial support that keep us trotting along, are a great bunch. Please take
note of their advertisements throughout the program and help us thank them by
patronizing their businesses. Thank You and...
Enjoy the shows!
